-Living with a passion for life and song-
Taylor
Wilson Thompson was born in 1998, and always had a
passion to sing. At daycare, she hummed and made up songs---even
getting into trouble at during naptime for arranging sing-alongs of
“Sitting on an airplane, looking out the window, watching the clouds
go by”.
Like many young singers, she began singing in her church’s
children’s choir. She performed her first sermonic solo, “He’s got
the whole world in His hands”, before her father’s sermon, at the
age of three. Dressed in velvet and satin, she brought joy to the
congregation’s hearts through her interpretation of the song.
At age four, Taylor stood on the banks of the Detroit River at her
God-sister’s
wedding singing the Lord’s Prayer. Facing Canada’s shore and
standing under the American Flag, she performed before 250 people,
undaunted and happily singing her heart out. Moist eyes dotted the
audience as they listened to her rendition of the prayer.
Today, at 10 years old, her passions are varied including reading,
writing short stories, horseback riding, volleyball and acting.
Her first passion is still her greatest; she wants to be a singer.
She has performed in numerous city and regional programs as a member
of a local city's Children’s Chorus. She has performed in stage plays
in Bethesda, Maryland while attending Washington Episcopal’s summer
theatre camps and continues to perform at school, community and
church events.
Taylor
Wilson Thompson has recorded a demo
of the song “Like A Star” at Patchwerk Studio in Atlanta, Georgia.
Taylor is a ten year old with a wealth of learning experiences, and
those experiences shape her musical interpretations.
She listens to various kinds of music, from gospel to show tunes -
from Disney to rap.
But it’s the tones, tunes and rhythms in her heart that make
her stylistic representations so dramatic and memorable
